Shaving Brushes We carry a wide selection of shaving brushes. We have found that many companies are miss leading on where they are made as all badger comes from China. Most shaving brushes we have always carried are made in the UK or Germany. The three companies we deal with are long time solid companies, Dovo, Kingsley (Mason Pearson) and "Old Original". But many other companies are having their brushes and razors made in China or Taiwan with packaging or a company name that makes it appear to be from Europe or will say nothing at all. I saw one company online blatantly miss leading and charging $175 for a $50 item as it is the same company in Taiwan I am dealing with. Make sure you know who you are dealing with as just because it is expensive does not mean it was made where they are leading to think it was. If it says nothing then it is made in China or Taiwan. We all know if it was made in the USA they would plaster it all over the packaging. We will label where or shaving items are made. We are carrying some Taiwan brushes and razors that are really well made but we are also not selling them for $175. I even use their top of the line "silver tip badger" shaving brush so I know it is good but we are charging a fair price! These are just my opinions. Thanks! Dan

When you first start using your new shaving brush it may have a slight smell to it. The badger hair has to be treated with a number of chemicals in order to enter the USA so it will need to air out. Sometimes it is just a day or two other times may take much longer but usually just a few days. Also when finished using a shaving brush shake all the water out you can. Also use a stand or something so the water can drain out of the brush and not into the glue holding the bristles. If the glue stays wet the bristles will start following out. Shaving brushes will wear out and have to be replaced. |
