When you first start using your new shaving brush it may have a slight smell to it. The badger hair has to be treated with a number of chemicals in order to enter the USA so it will need to air out. Sometimes it is just a day or two other times may take much longer but usually just a few days. Also when finished using a shaving brush shake all the water out you can. Also use a stand or something so the water can drain out of the brush and not into the glue holding the bristles. If the glue stays wet the bristles will start following out. Shaving brushes will wear out and have to be replaced.
