Sahara Folder "Green Mammoth Ivory"

In most cases this would be considered the back side but without the logo it doesn't really matter which side is considered the front, Click the picture to additional pictures

Blade: Latter Pattern Stainless Damascus blade  forged my maker Blade Length:   4"
Handle: Green bark Mammoth Ivory Handle Length:  4 7/8"
Bolster:  Gibeon Meteorite with titanium liners Handle Thickness: 3/8"
Weight:  2.9 ounces Class: Custom Tactical Folders
Storage: Black zipper case Item Number: 100-8506
Notes: This "Sahara Folder" has a spectacular piece of mammoth with a lot of color! The browns really jump out and the handle is completely smooth with no texture to it so it is very stable! The meteorite is spectacularly bright and has a very fine pattern to it. Very interesting looking at it with a 10 power triplet lens. I had never done that before.

The blade has a very tight ladder pattern and it appears to be sculptured into the blade. Bertie has used a matte finish in the area around the bolster but if you look close you can see the pattern is still there. The effect makes the blade appear to jump out and separates it from the handle. Pretty neat little trick! In looking down at the back of the blade (sorry no picture) the back of the blade is mirror finished with the matte area is still close to the blade.

There is a lot of work in this knife and with the "Stanhope" logo in the center of the blade pivot it is no wonder this design won "Most Innovative Knife" at the 2005 Knifemakers Guild Show" and one of the knives "Best Art Knife" at the South African Knifemakers Guild Show".  New "Tilt: bolster and each one is a "One of a kind" makes it a special piece for any collection!
