Mel Nishiuchi Mel is a long time knife maker and one of the best kept secrets of the industry. Mel started making knives back in the 80's but has always been part time, but is now making more knives and plans to be more active. He is originally from Hawaii and was part of the early Hawaiian knife makers group. Mel currently lives in Las Vegas and attends our show in the fall. Mel is a stone expert and does consulting for many of the top knife makers such as Buster Warenski, Ken Onion, and also helps Blade Magazine and numerous writers when they need back ground on different stone. His mark is his Hawaiian symbol which is a credit to his heritage and he has stayed with it all these years, as it does make him stand out! He is also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet!
