Phil Junior came over to the shop and
we looked these knives over As he worked with his father all his life he has
a keen insight as to when the knives were made as many knives that we think
Phil senior made Phil junior also worked on as far back as the late 80's.
This knife Phil junior had never seen
done by his father so he believes it was most likely the early 80's or late
70's. The black on the side of the blade is the flashing from the heat
treat. Also the blade style is unusual as it is a simple design. Also on the
handle it is wrapped in copper, blackened and then cord wrapped. So a "one
of a kind" from the past.
This knife has never been used and
came out of a private collection. As the flashing was left on the side of
the knife it has the marks from the steel as it was delivered to Phil. The
black flashing is over the full flats of the blade it so the knife is the
same as it was delivered.
Weight 4 2/3 ounces
This knife is previously owned and is
from a private collection bought from Phill.
