Barry Dawson and Family

Barry Dawson is a long time knife maker. He makes using knives and on occasion some collector knives, but he is primarily a maker of every day working knives. His daughter Lynn and her husband also make knives that are on this page. Blade steel is a full range from 440c, 5160, 52100 and ATS-34. Many of his knives have micarta handles to give you something to grip and ease of use but he also does a lot of cord wrapped handles as well as thread wrapped handles that are Japanese style. Barry enjoys the unusual on occasion so we never know what we may see from him. Currently he Lynn and Dennis are doing a lot of tool steel with black finishes. Barry's brother Dane used to work with him but because of health reasons he could no longer make knives, so it is now just Barry and family to continue on the family tradition.
